Alexandra District Health is a fully accredited public Health Service, which comprises of 25 acute and 5 day procedure beds. We also extensive Community Health service and specialsit consutling service.


Part time 0.53 FTE (FIXED TERM - 12 month position)

Alexandra District Health is a major health service within the Shire of Murrindindi and has long and proud history in health-related service provision to the area, providing medical and surgical care in a wide range of specialties, as well as multiple Primary Health programs.

Alexandra District Health is seeking to appoint a Specialist General Practitioner to a 0.53 FTE part time position. The successful appointee will have extensive experience in the treatment of common medical conditions and the capacity to recognise when a patient would be better served by transferring to a larger regional or metro health service.

The appointee will care for inpatients, provide service and advice to the Urgent Care Unit and participate in the clinical governance of the Health Service.  The role will provide leadership and support to a team comprising of experienced Nursing staff, Allied Health and on call General Practitioners.  The successful candidate will be expected to participate in an on-call roster.

It is preferable that the appointee is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners or the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and that they have had advanced skills training.
